Christmas.. in retrospect!!

When I was a little girl, Christmas was just that MAGICAL time of year.  And now, since I'm all "grown-up", I sometimes have to stop and remember to take a minute and remember.. the joy and the excitement and the amazement of it all!  It helps, having the little guys around.. their big eyes taking it all in.. Logan still more excited about tearing the wrapping off, than what's actually inside the package.  And the little boys were all excited about their barns from Grandpa and Grandma!  Not only can you store your farm toys in there, but you can lift the lid.. and climb in, too!!

  



 

The new "Trav n' Blake" version of Ping-pong.  (Also known by Travis as "Pinga pong")  Uses a large foam ball instead of a small plastic one!

We enjoyed an early Thanksgiving/Christmas get-together with the Leman family in Elgin, at the end of November.  My camera was unfortunately AWOL, but a wonderful time was had by all!!

And then, the fun and chaos of Wiegand Christmas.. not too many quiet moments there!  There were some tears this year.. Dad took Grandpa's place reading the Christmas story.. the kiddos lined up by Uncle Ed to sing their songs.  And the DVD that Uncle Bob put tons of work into.. lots of laughs.. and again, a few tears.  Grandpa's spot was noticably empty.  And I missed him.  But they read a poem, that kinda puts it ALL into perspective..

I sent you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above.I sent you each a memory of my undying love.
After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold
It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other, as my Father said to do
For I can’t count the blessing or love he has for each of you
So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear
Remember, I am spending Christmas
with Jesus Christ this year.

Happy cold and snowy Sunday!!  Church services were cancelled, our annual Christmas program postponed.. Nothing like a snow day to make me thankful for having a warm home to live in, hot coffee to drink, and a chance to work on the blog that I've been WANTING to do for a while now!!  So, stay tuned.. hopefully many more posts to come!
